As a yachtsman, I know that you can still reach your destination when there is a headwind, provided you set the right tack.

Even as a scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Copyright and Competition Law, I already specialised in industrial property rights.

As a lawyer, I carry out forensic and advisory work in all areas of industrial property rights and copyright. I have extensive litigation experience in the enforcement of industrial property rights in court and am also frequently involved in intellectual property right conflicts at trade fairs. In addition, I represent my clients in validity proceedings before the Federal Patent Court and the Federal Court of Justice and conduct proceedings before the EUIPO and European courts. The focus of my advisory work is on resolving conflicts out of court, such as by concluding trade mark differentiation agreements and drafting and negotiating licence agreements.

My clients include companies in Germany and abroad. The range of industries covered is broad and includes mechanical engineering, companies in the pharmaceuticals and consumer goods industries, telecommunications and entertainment electronics.

My book “Durchsetzung der Gemeinschaftsmarke – International Zuständigkeit, anwendbares Recht und Rechtsfolgen bei Verletzung” - “Enforcement of the Community Trade Mark – International Jurisdiction, Applicable Law and Legal Consequences of Infringement” - has been published in the Carl Heymanns Verlag series on industrial property rights. In addition, I am a lecturer at the German Attorneys’ Academy for Patent Infringement Trials.
